At our school, oracy is at the heart of learning. We believe that developing children's speaking and listening skills is essential for academic success, confidence, and future life opportunities. Through carefully planned discussions, questioning, storytelling, presentations, and collaborative learning activities, pupils are encouraged to articulate their ideas clearly, listen respectfully to others, and build on different viewpoints. We aim to create a classroom culture where every child has a voice and feels confident sharing their thoughts. By embedding oracy across the curriculum, we support pupils to become effective communicators, critical thinkers, and articulate learners who are well prepared for the next stage of their education and beyond.

 

Our children have taken part in various events to develop their speking and listening skills includng poetry competitions and most recently a public speaking event.
