2021/2022

July : Athletic and rounders cluster events participation.

May: Cross country ( Muddy Woody) we had a 3rd and 5th in the KS2 boys but over 28 children competed.

Friendly Football opportunity created with Rufford Primary resulted in 2 teams being taken. Total of 15 Year 5 boys.

April: Swimming - sadly we were unable to facilitate attendance at the WLSP swimming Gala at Edge Hill. We had been the winners for the last 2 years but were forced to relinquish the cup to another this year. We'll be back next year for certain.

March: Our fabulous class 2 entered a virtual dance competition with their brilliant dance based on Jungle book with Louise Ross. They danced their heart and soul out - even choreography including cartwheels and involving all the children in class - they were so proud of their efforts. We have videod it and hope to share with parents later this year.

Feb : Our Girls Football team went to an Euro foorball tournament with cluster schools through WLSP and they won the trophy for small schools and we also won the Euro ascot competition. Girls football has successfully played in two tournaments this year with the focus from WLSP due to the Euro’s and performance. Training between Nov and June resulted in overall winners 7/8 wins and one draw. Involved 11  Year 5/6 girls.

feb: Tag rugby and dodgeball school games competition. Well done to year 6 ( with a bit of help from 2 year 5's) who smashed the competition in this local competition. We won and went the school games final at Blackpool Stanley Park in July.

Well Done Lucas W who also won the WLSP relay baton design competition and was invited to the VIP area of the Sports Games final in Blackpool in July

Feb: Year 5/6 small school sports hall athletics team represented West lancs. It was a great day at Blackpool and we came 5th out of 8. Although disappointed not to come in the top three in the county, we had some personal bests for javlin and speed bounce and obstacle and gave it their all.

Feb: Tommy and Mrs Glew organised a brilliant cricket competition ( after running after school club) with cricket clubs in our area. Involving children from Year 5/6 they played over two weeks and although didn't win, they showed spirit and great heart in plugging on until the end of the tournament. They won one of their games and we were very proud as their competitors were match pro teams.

Nov: Our infant sports hall athletics tournament took place at Tarleton and they represented school so well. The additional forcus on fundamental skills on our return to school in September paid off and they won 4/6 categories. Well done team!

Oct: Our sports hall athletics team from year 4/5/6 were fantastic in the WLSP school games competition and we came first! Gold medal place! We will attend the County finals at Blackpool in February to represent West Lancs. What a great team. ( see twitter for details)
