Fairtrade Pupil Voice Group

Our Fairtrade group led by Mrs Allchurch met with Cath Greenlees, a local Fairtrade Ambassador, in order to support our understanding of Fairtrade.

Their first actions involved an assembly and a full day of fact finding for all pupils in school. Next they are sourcing Fairtrade ingredients, baking gingerbread men and selling them for Fairtrade farmers in the aim of promoting a 'fair wage for a fair product'.

The group in Spring 2020 have invited the children in school to create a fair trade poster for a competition. In 2022,2023, they attended the fairtrade group at Preston County Hall and then came back to school and led a worship on it for all pupils to engage with.

We are grateful for Mrs K Greenlees who comes into school regularly to talk abour Fair trade opportunities and Christian Aid.

In 2023, the fairtrade group have merged with the Equality and Diversity group and they will work together to apply for the Gender and Disability Equality Award and hope to attend the LCC Fairtrade conference in February 2024.
