Honey, honey, honey!

Date: 4th May 2021 @ 8:13pm

As part of our topic about minibeasts we are learning about bees and how they produce honey. To be able to understand this though we wanted to try different types of honey to see if the flavours were any different depending on the flowers they obtained the nectar from. It was fascinating to learn about honey and we tried runny honey, set honey and orange blossom honey.  After trying it, we decided to use it in a recipe and made honey baked bananas. There were mixed reactions to the taste however it was lovely to see everyone having a try with some having seconds! We used out D&T skills to prepare the food, remembering to wash hands and clean surfaces first and cut bananas before sprinkling them with sugar, cinnamon and honey and baking them. Other honey recipes are on our google classroom page. Maybe you could try them at home.
