Class 2 history visit

Date: 13th Oct 2022 @ 12:16pm

Today, Class 2 were very lucky to make links with the local area and visit one of the houses in Bretherton. Mrs Ryding showed us what her house was like 100 years ago. First of all, we played spot the difference as detectives using an old image of her house. We talked about what has changed and what the house was used for. Can you believe part of her house was used to keep the cows in? We then looked at some old items that people would have had in the past as they had no running water or electricity. We saw where the chickens and pigs would have been kept. Finally, we got the chance to see how big one of the horses would have been who pulled the ploughs by meeting Hector the horse. The children really loved meeting him!

Thank you Mr and Mrs Ryding. We had a lovely day and learnt so much!
