Can you run a marathon?

Date: 3rd Jun 2020 @ 11:23am

Hi Everyone, I bumped into one of our amazing pupils the other day and they had already cycled 300 miles since we were last at school together.  300 miles!  What an incredibly achievement and she had done it by doing a little bit every day.

When WLSP sent me their latest challenge, I was so excited, (think Donkey in Shrek, "Pick me. Pick me.")

I know at Bretherton we have amazingly talented, active children, so I am hoping you will want to tackle this challenge with me.

WLSP would like us all to run a marathon but, because you are growing, it is not healthy to run too far or too often for your bodies, so they have set some very sensible limits.  Reception and KS1 no more than 1.5 miles a day and KS2 no more than 2m a day.

I have attached the documents, but have also created a 'Class Discussion', so you can let me know if you are going to join me, my boys and of course Leo (our dog), then we can cheer each other along.

I wonder how many teachers and parents we can get involved too?

Look forward to hearing from you, Mrs Glew.
