Class 2 visit to A.J.Ashcroft & Sons Construction Yard.

Today our Class 2 children walked to Mr Ashcroft’s construction yard in Bretherton. 

Mr Ashcroft and his site manager Dave gave us a wonderful insight into a varied and highly rewarding career in the construction industry.

Dave advised the children of the huge range of career opportunities in the construction industry. These include designing, planning and project management, as well as doing the hands-on practical work.

Mr Ashcroft demonstrated some of the invaluable tools and resources that his company use on a regular basis. These include a cable avoidance tool, plate compactor, rotating laser level and excavator, to name but a few! 

A very big thank you to Mr Ashcroft and Dave for an inspiring visit. I’m sure, their enthusiasm and dedication will attract many children to a rewarding career in construction.
